Daily money account and that's it.

Or two overnight money accounts, for the separation you have in mind. There are also some where it takes a while from the withdrawal instruction to the actual payout (30-90 days, for example at Rabobank), but you get a bit more interest. That might be something for the house. Or possibly building savings contracts, depending on the timeframe in which you plan the purchase.

Thank you so far. I will deal with it again.

A different question: is it possible to upload offered properties from the internet here without violating the forum rules?

: Congratulations on your sober attitude! I want to support your conclusion to "wait with the house purchase."

There is a lot of potential for change in your life right now:

- New relationship (blended family?) with different location preferences
- Transfers to (possibly even unexpectedly attractive) locations
- New career is less enjoyable than expected
- Assignments (increasing equity, but on the other hand personal risk)
- Your final retirement date is at least uncertain

I would wait with the house purchase at least until you have "arrived" in the new career, possibly even until the next relationship. Surely the active comrade in this thread can contribute more on these topics.

It is unlikely (but everyone really has a different opinion here) that the purchase prices in your current desired area will rise in the foreseeable future, especially if in metropolitan regions future significantly lower increases are already expected. Your desired area is not even in a "commuter belt" of a metropolitan region. Rather, interest rates will rise in the next few years (which becomes less relevant with increasing equity), causing purchase prices in your area to stagnate or decrease. In my opinion, you therefore have LOTS OF TIME.

Until then: Trust is absolutely not advisable in financial matters, so approach saving rather conservatively and invest exclusively in products you fully understand.

PS: I only registered because of this thread, as I have regularly encountered many soldiers in difficult financial situations - not to mention difficult family situations - (regularly as a responder on KpChef-DP).

Hello staubtrocken,

First of all, thank you for your many words, which reinforce my decision. For me, it was clear from the beginning that I would only seriously consider the project once I have the promotion and the first few months at the new post behind me. Due to the bundling of posts, I am aiming for a long-term assignment nearby (e.g., Münster, my old military home).

You can never categorically rule out a relationship, but I am somewhat scarred by the past and would not move for a woman, leaving friends, family, and my junior behind.

I am currently observing the market in the region and find the prices partially very high compared to a few years ago. However, I understand the point that they will go down again with rising interest rates.

I would look forward to an assignment before buying a house, as equity would increase. I have already ruled out a new build, as it is too expensive and the depreciation in the region will be very high.

Pension is a good topic; everything is moving towards 62 years. It would personally benefit me, as I would then receive a "good" pension with 44 years of service at the end. Of course, retirement age 55 would also be nice, but others have to wait even longer.

Currently, my savings plan is working perfectly; in addition, €250 per month come on top, as I have calculated everything very generously. I will continue this for at least another 5-6 years and wait to see what life still has in store for me.

Regards
