Hello,
since we are in the middle of planning, I have another question right away:
Is it sensible to move the office to the basement? Our floor plan includes an 8.5 m² office on the ground floor. Unfortunately, we still lack space for a wardrobe, and the storage room at 2.6 m² is actually too small for us. Therefore, we are considering whether to turn the office into a utility room so that we can at least store everything well and without crowding, use the storage room as a walk-in closet for jackets and shoes, and use the 15 m² basement room as an office.
The office would really only be for our folders (insurance, bank statements, etc.) and to take care of paperwork every few weeks; so no one actually "works" there except for the usual things. We also rarely have overnight guests, and if we do, at this size you could probably fit a bed in there anyway.
What do you think of this idea? The attic has the two children's rooms, bedroom, and bathroom, so there is no space there either.
Does this idea make sense or is it rather disadvantageous in practice?
