There are already houses in greenhouses in Germany. As far as I have heard in the [GRÜNEN], currently still lives in such a house. But that is planned meticulously and not such a castle in the air.

Oh yes. Such a discussion is different in the [GRÜNEN].

How do you actually want to realize the insulation? Do you want to call the American beverage manufacturer and request the U-value of their PET bottles?

It is nice that the thread brings you so much joy, but it would be very kind of you if you at least took the topic somewhat seriously. I'm not saying that I will build the house tomorrow; it will take at least a few years. The floor plan is very simple: just imagine 2 rooms stacked on top of each other with a front door and windows. The floor plan is also automatically generated by the CAD software. The costs are adjusted the more detailed I get, but I don't think it will exceed 25,000 for the size of the house. Currently obtaining a permit is certainly the biggest obstacle, but in the future, when the concept becomes more well-known, that will change. The only reasons why such houses will not be allowed in the future are called the building mafia and the energy mafia. Please remember that this is still purely theoretical; the whole concept still needs to be worked out in more detail. I am also currently working on software that has a lot of potential. Money is then the least of the problems. But since the future is always uncertain, I prefer to plan a very efficient house that costs little. Additionally, I have no interest in building a "traditional"/"modern" house. Those things are extremely inefficient and ugly.

Every plan starts as a castle in the air. Art Treibhaus simply means that it is not a complete greenhouse 3 x 3 meter greenhouse as one might imagine, but only an extension of about 1 meter.

Then you should - as a positive example - start by discussing seriously. WHAT you have in mind only has rudimentary intersections with the Earthship project (which I, by the way, have been following for quite a while); if at all. This follows solely from the fact that they are still missing EUR 80,000 in donations to complete the project. For completeness, it is also not built "only" from bottles and earth; it also contains a lot of expensive technology, among other things. And you casually suggest EUR 25,000 as capital ... When the big influx of money then arrives ..... Lease or buy a piece of land in a garden allotment colony and build a weekend house on it, according to your ideas. That would require no permit at all! Rhineland regards

When it comes to insulation, I heavily rely on the Earthships that have been built here in Europe. If the insulation does not suffice or somehow gets messed up during construction, I plan to install nano or aerogel panels from the inside. Although they are extremely expensive and definitely exceed the 25,000, they can heat tents passively with one's own body heat. I will try to have an alternative and/or "repair" ready for every problem that may arise.

It strongly depends on the property; if I have enough space, the project will resemble an Earthship more. If space is limited, the insulation will be completely different. The smallest version would then be the house in the greenhouse. However, it is not a large greenhouse. The glass is only about 1 to 1.5 meters away from the house wall and mainly serves as insulation and frost protection for the plants. I will not start until I have thoroughly tested everything. I am also aware that I lack a lot of information. But that is something that will improve over time.

I will definitely finance the whole thing myself. Even if I have to do the whole thing as self-construction over 10 years.

I had already considered and discarded the garden shed years ago. I prefer to invest my time and money in a project that can save me rent.

I am currently wondering about a completely different matter: The story with the Earthship, if I understood it correctly, primarily has the ecological aspect as its background, so I also assume that this is an important reason for the construction method in this project.

But what ecological consideration is there in using PET bottles as the main component? That is exactly the opposite, isn’t it? If a large number of people built this way in the future, it would be absurd, because then PET bottles would have to be produced specifically for this construction method or more raw material would need to be produced to satisfy the normal household demand for PET.
