Yes! In principle, the toilet should be placed where there is natural light, also right at the window because of the view (not to be confused with insight). Washbasins should preferably be placed sideways with daylight, then you save artificial light during the day. The bathtub should preferably _not_ stand in the room or in the way, since you want to relax. And window/bathtub: where do you want to look? How else do you use your bathtub when you take your bath?! For your information (not in the bathroom thread, but in bathroom planning, I said ;) )

Are there any evolutionary reasons for this or something? I almost always see toilets by the window. We have one by the window in the house (but without a view, it has a pleated blind) and one without a window, and I avoid the one without a window. I don't know why myself. Standing in the room/in the way is actually not an issue for me, normally no one comes into the bathroom while I’m bathing, and if they do, it’s only to deliver drinks or snacks, which is very welcome. :) But there’s no through traffic in the bathroom. I have a bathtub here that looks into a corner niche, which I don’t think is bad, but it’s a bit dark. But better than looking at the toilet. I don’t know why but I don’t like that. Looking out the window would be my favorite; in the new house, we would have a great view from the window.

But not if the window has to be opaque because of the shower ;)

I would only frost it partially like that, but not all the way to the top. That would be possible. But the shower in the corner is just one of many options. I'm not very satisfied with the planning, which is why I put it up for discussion here.

That's probably because from an evolutionary perspective, when you're on the toilet, you're among the most vulnerable along with sleeping, and increased vigilance is necessary. By the window, you have a clear view of what's happening around you; not so in a dark corner. Even with blinds, you feel like you always have the option to look outside if you notice a noise (roaring, hissing) :D:p

Excretion psychology, I like the direction this thread is developing. :)
