First of all, thank you for your helpful and kind (with one exception) comments. The window front is so large because there is a very big gallery inside and of course you want to look outside and not at a wall/ceiling. A venetian blind of that size would probably be too prone to damage when it's windy. I believe two one above the other are not so easy to "hide". All other windows will get roller shutters. But for the big one, it's simply too high. A textile screen would be the solution, but I am concerned about mold. Does anyone have experience with that? The other alternative is solar control glazing and sun protection from the inside. By the way, the house already looks really good, but it's all a matter of taste. Thank you.
