Hello everyone,

we want to start with the final attic conversion soon. Insulation etc. is included. Cross battens are still missing as well as the cladding.

We would very much like to integrate various storage options in the knee wall to save space. Preferably with sliding doors.
Maybe a ready-made system / kit or something similar.

Of course, we have already googled and so on.

However, we prefer tips or practical recommendations / implementations / advice. :)

Has anyone already had something like this done or even done it themselves?

Thanks in advance

I built it myself, but with doors.
The disadvantage, however, is that you need the space in front of it for the door.

At the top and bottom, I attached anodized and brushed aluminum profiles and also between the doors. I used Ikea kitchen fronts as doors and also the door hinges. Everything without handles, with the Ikea pushers. It actually looks good. I also used these fronts throughout the house as paneling.

Back then I had to watch the money and picked the Ikea fronts from the bargain corner. Instead of 60 euros, they only cost 3 euros there. The ends justify the means.

However, today there are also sliding systems at the hardware store that are relatively inexpensive. You can also make it relatively cheaply with them.

I stored many things there that I don't need every day. Therefore, it is okay with the doors.

Super, many thanks. Sounds great. Do you possibly have an example picture?... preferably via private message

Gladly!

I only have a picture of the hallway now, but it looks the same upstairs. Since the lower aluminum profile is higher, I raised the floor accordingly there and laid heating pipes, electrical wiring, and water underneath.

A slight push and the doors open. It works quite well with the Ikea components, and the quality of the fronts is quite good.
As I said, if you have to buy it regularly, it will be expensive.
