Hello everyone,
we are currently in the planning phase of our kitchen (actually, the kitchen planning is supposed to be in January, but we could get first ideas/help here).
Attached you will find our floor plan. Our ideas for the kitchen are similar to the kitchen already drawn in.
We know that the kitchen is very, very large, or somewhat narrow. There should definitely be no shortage of space.
Here are a few "important" measurements for better overview:
Wall width: 3.40 m
Passage width from countertop edge to tall cabinet door approx. 2.10 m
Wall depth from window in the north to the living room door approx. 5.50 m
Passage width from "island" to tall cabinet approx. 1.10 m
The dimensional ratio that is often talked about is not given in this kitchen. Nevertheless, we are not really interested in the "walking distances," or "how far I have to walk from my oven to the dining table, or from my sofa to the fridge."
We just want to integrate our kitchen as well as possible into the space provided for it.
According to the drawing, we had considered extending the section with the "island" further down to generate even more work surface (with the island not so long, but a bit deeper – so that we generate more passage width from the island to the tall cabinet).
Things that definitely "should stay as they are":
- Sink remains in front of the window, so: dishwasher should be next to the sink – thus not integrated into a tall cabinet.
- Oven can be integrated into a tall cabinet on the right side – next to it then the refrigerator and another pantry cabinet (Apothekerschrank).
- The stove should definitely be on the wall – not in the island area.
What do you think? Can something nice be planned there? Storage and lots of work surface, which we love very much, would be there :)
Pantry is not included! So there should be enough space available.
