Our kitchen is not here yet, so I don’t have any real experience with it, but we specifically chose matte with an extra anti-fingerprint surface. At least that solves the problem with fingerprints.

It’s quite normal to get food on the door while cooking. Whether it’s in the handle recess or on a handle makes no difference. A handle recess is probably easier to clean than some handles.

But I would just do it according to your taste in your place. Choose what you find nicer.

For us, at this point, "design follows utility/function" clearly applies, so from my perspective, the applique strips as proper handles are to be preferred over the recessed handles. A handleless kitchen is certainly chic! But personally, I have not yet seen any recessed handles that are functionally as good as or better than applique strips/handles. We are very satisfied with the corresponding strips/handles and miss nothing either functionally or aesthetically. The kitchen is not uglier because of it either :)

I now have a white high-gloss kitchen for the third time in a row, it’s a bit boring, but still the easiest front to maintain for me when I see the matte fronts at friends’ places..

I received a cleaning cloth from a friend that you only dampen with lukewarm water and wipe the fronts with it. No drying, no streaks, spotless clean! Really great

This time we decided on the handle attachments because we couldn’t quite get used to handleless or recessed handles.

The only thing to consider during planning, if you did it like us before, is where to put the dish towels, which you used to like hanging over the bar handles.

Our oven is on the opposite side, we didn’t think of a hanger in the drawers, and you can’t hang a bar on the edges of the cabinets either because the handle rests over the entire width.. luxury problems - I know :)

We have a pull-out cabinet by the sink and hang the towel over the handle there, and when guests come who shouldn’t see it, we put the dish towel away :D

Thank you for your experiences! I’ve also wondered about the dish towels and then saw that there are hanging rails for handleless kitchens. That’s probably what you meant, which doesn’t work with handle strips on top, right?
