Is the plot accessible from any point of the street frontage?

Hello everyone,

I have attached a sketch showing the location of the street and our property (house in blue). The street is only passable up to the red lines. We already knew that when we bought it. What we did not know is that a staircase (red lines) for pedestrians will be built from there. This would mean that our property would only be accessible to a limited extent. It could not be reached from the street or the sidewalk, but you would definitely have to be on it beforehand and then go around the corner. Is the city allowed to implement this?

Thanks in advance.

Why only accessible to a limited extent? I can see from the drawing that 90% of the side of the property facing the street is accessible from the street. Where is the limitation?

So everything is implemented as you knew. Your driveway is therefore not planned on the dashed area and you have to get onto the property beforehand anyway. With or without stairs.

Why shouldn't it be allowed? You have no disadvantage concerning your property.

I believe we do not fully understand the problem yet. Can you explain again?

Most plots are only accessible via a driveway, which usually constitutes only a fraction of the street frontage. Some even build fences, hedges, or walls to limit access accordingly.

I would like to go around the corner by bike. If that is not possible from the street but only via the property, then it gets quite tight. Besides, then I couldn’t make green lawns everywhere as planned, but would actually have to pave the front yard to a greater extent.
That I can’t park there with the car was clear. But that it even becomes difficult with the bike is a surprise.

90% is not 100%.
