More than fair, because in my opinion those three are not defects.
I see it differently. Partly of course no serious defects, but why are there signed plans if you don’t stick to them?
Why couldn’t the windowsill be installed afterwards? The other two points are not optimal, but I wouldn’t have thought of demanding a refund. With acquaintances, 5 windowsills were installed too many because the general contractor forgot the verbal agreement that something different was supposed to go in the bathroom, toilet, and kitchen. They were taken out again, but there was no “credit” because they needed 5 windowsills less than agreed in the contract.
The windowsill collided with the kitchen, but that was a planning error on our part. Therefore, this was only about the material value of the windowsill that was simply not used.
Tick it off and take the 300€. Done.
I will probably do that. :)
What else should it be? 300€ is actually quite alright. The thing with the storage room is annoying. Actually somewhere in the contract it states the refund per missing sqm. At 20cm x 20cm it won’t even be a three-digit amount. I would accept that. I don’t understand how a built-up corner can cause such problems. Basically, only cabinets go in there anyway. If provider A doesn’t have a suitable selection for the corresponding dimensions, I just go to B. Windowsill 50€ is also ok... but no labor is calculated there. 250€ for the current windowsill is of course a real hit and in my opinion grossly overpriced. I would probably have tried to shove that invoice onto the general contractor. Nothing more is possible unless you’re at war.
I can’t shove the invoice onto the general contractor; the solution with the incoming windowsill from the kitchen builder is based on a planning error on our part (or the kitchen builder’s). If I were to argue with anyone, it would be with the kitchen builder rather than the general contractor. He forgot to plan how high the window is. ;)
For example, you might plan to put exactly 2 crates of water next to each other and have designed the room accordingly. Or exactly a washing machine and dryer next to each other. I can totally understand that that annoys you!
Exactly that. It was designed for 2 Ivar shelves side by side, which we already owned. We wanted to combine these with an IVAR corner shelf. But we can forget about the corner shelf now because the built-up corner is right there. Since the room itself is very small (just a little cubby), the loss of 20x20 proportionally to the room is already quite a lot. And right at the worst possible position.
The only stupid thing is that the storage room won’t get bigger even with the 300€ – and the annoyance probably won’t be less – and the railing won’t change either. Would, for example, 3,000€ reduce the annoyance? Nothing would change about the storage room and the railing, etc.
You’re absolutely right, that’s probably how it is.
That is the really annoying item. Although most contracts state that technical changes are possible. For the annoyance, the remaining 100€ is too little. For the missing living space rather okay – after all, it also cost additional material which wasn’t charged to you.
Well, the corner probably comes from the air conditioning. So for the condensate drain/pipes for the air conditioning. That was in a way already charged to me because we pay for it. It just wasn’t drawn into our plans, which is what annoys me. Thanks for your feedback. I think we will take the credit and tick off the issues.
