That is a common problem nowadays. Everyone only looks at the perfect lives of unknown people on social media etc. and gets the feeling that what they see there is the standard.
What comes to mind - quote Dieter Hildebrandt: "Some complain that they do not get what they want. Yet they should be happy that they do not get what they deserve." I include myself as a Central European in this.
