We also have bedrooms on the south side with 2-meter-wide windows, but with a parapet. Most days, even in the sunny winter, we find it absolutely pleasant. At times in summer, the roller shutter is closed. Now, during occasional bed rest due to illness, I find it wonderful and enjoy the sun. All this won't help you at first, because a house on the building land develops during the planning phase. You have to consider the entirety. Later, you can always weigh which window is installed with which fixture (roof, shutter). I am anyway surprised that you are planning a bungalow with at least 4 bedrooms. That uses an enormous amount of floor space; I will leave aside the cost-effectiveness (I cannot calculate that, but probably not), but how about the P plan? What does the floor area ratio say? asks Yvonne
