They are very cool shutters, but I recommend from the inside with a crank. That is very comfortable. And the biggest downside is the price; they are quite a bit more expensive in aluminum than [Raffstore]. You need shading for [KFW55]. Otherwise, you'll bake in the summer..

I really like the look. I'll have to talk to my wife and the construction company to see what the possibilities are.

Oh dear,
we built our two-family house completely without roller shutters in 1990 in BW, and yes, we were probably the only ones. At that time, we didn’t like those usual and ugly white-beige roller shutters, and we didn’t have venetian blinds on the plan or maybe they weren’t yet that common.
But I have to say that there still were no problems with the heat, which wouldn’t have existed elsewhere either; however, on the south side/window front, we had a decent roof overhang, and in the attic the windows were not directly facing south but otherwise generously distributed.
The window arrangement was recommended as okay at that time by an "energy consultant" from a university in NRW, and we were always satisfied with it but were actually also inspired by Northern Germany and especially Holland.
Only after 10 years did we equip the large south-facing window front with venetian blinds, and I wouldn’t do it any other way in a new building because I really like them.
On the north side, however, I still wouldn’t need any such blinds, at most for privacy reasons.
This apparently now existing "regulation" was completely unfamiliar to me until now... things happen
Nevertheless, I still find the Dutch style, also rather fence- and boundary-free design of house and property very appealing.

I have never heard of this regulation either. We built completely without shading in 2017. We don't have huge window areas, only quite "normal" windows. Where the sun is bothersome, we lower an interior blind. We have never had a heat problem... it is pleasantly cool during summer heat. Best regards

The shutters can also be made as "sliding shutters." It doesn't cost much and is even easy to build yourself.
