Shading programming - experiences, tips?

Well, that is simply done by measuring the consumption at the TV socket.

I had assumed that too, but I couldn't manage it because my TV (Sony) with a dark picture sometimes was so close to the standby consumption that I could no longer differentiate it.

I solved the TV issue with KNX after some prolonged tinkering like this:

My PM in the living room has an IR receiver (Merten 630919). My Logitech Harmony sends an IR command when turning on, which the PM sends as "TV On" to the bus.
Then the PM locks the lighting and the blinds go down.
When the TV is turned off, it works the other way around: Off via IR to the PM. The light is unlocked, blinds go up, unless shading is necessary, then it is started.

Cool thing, I have had the Harmony Ultimate for over 2 years and am not really using it much at the moment.

for shading, I would always use an automatic system depending on the sunlight, possibly combined with times of day to choose the building side for the primary shading (south during the day, west in the evening, ...).

Is the standby power consumption of the TV that high or is the measurement that inaccurate? We also have the solution with a dedicated power socket for the TV. I set the threshold at 10W. Standby is somewhere around 1.x watts. We've never had any problems with it. However, we also have one with active power measurement.

This function could be intercepted, for example, with a small Control4 controller. Those who prefer tinkering could take a look at ioBroker and the like to see if there are IP drivers for the devices. Then they report back cleanly what they are currently doing.

The TV is from Sony, the standby consumption is normally 5W, but sometimes jumps up to 25. In addition, during operation, it regularly drops below 10W during very dark scenes. But my solution with the Harmony and the infrared receiver in the PM works great, so it doesn’t bother me that much...
