Also, the view towards Taiwan. And the latest sanctions from the USA against China. I consider hyperinflation to be harmless since it concerns very long-term investments and the world economy has so far recovered from every crisis. After all, there is no other choice.

But you only have to sugarcoat it financially if your aim in life is to make as much money as possible.
If your own well-being, the way your children grow up, etc. are more important to you, then you certainly don’t see a house as a financial investment, but as an investment in precisely those things. I believe most people are satisfied if they have enough money to afford a normal life (which can include a house, but doesn’t have to) and the occasional nice vacation, even if that means they haven’t gotten the optimum out of what’s possible.

I did say that I consider it as an investment in well-being. But often enough, the notion also comes up that owning a home is a financially rewarding investment. And that is only true to a limited extent at best.

But less conditionally and above all less short-term than carrying 100TEUR equity capital to Las Vegas

Above all: money itself is initially nothing. Money is just a means to an end. To be able to afford a good life. What use is it to me if I maximize my euros but never spend them?

As already mentioned, instead of a home, the many saved-up funds could be used for early retirement by gradually reducing and spending the equity monthly. Retirement at the beginning of the 50s, for example. That is not possible with a house in which one lives until death. The capital is tied up for the heirs.
