But he writes, no children planned.

Of course, we can also speculate, agonize, and babble, meanwhile an additional children's room is being planned.

I believe the OP is interested in something completely different.

Only you yourselves can answer that question. Is €3,500 per month enough for you to live on? Especially at your age, when salary increases are still possible.

The average German would be gasping for air now, since many families have that amount as gross income - before rent and living expenses...

That he is a construction engineer does not say much. We have already had architects here who were surprised by the currently high construction prices!

The own contribution is rather standard except for the foundation slab, which almost every builder does.
The statements/my statement are based on experience from 2 years of intensive construction planning and execution.

How far his own company will accommodate on civil engineering, drainage, shell construction, planning, etc. will decisively influence the ancillary construction costs. But he did not write anything about that. If it were the case, he would have written it.

How are the salaries divided?

Completed family planning at 26... honestly, even if you don’t want to hear it, I wouldn’t consider that certain. You still have many years in which you could change your mind.

The only one babbling here is you. That was a slightly humorous remark on my part, marked by a winking smiley. As an experienced forum user, you should be able to interpret that.

The OP will manage the financing, houses get more expensive as always, but they will surely be able to handle that as well.

If family planning changes, then the office, guest room, gaming room, hobby room simply becomes a children's room.

Through personal effort and the money allocated for it, the OP could manage the costs. He says it will be around 350,000 euros.

@ OP
With your income, financing should be feasible without becoming a slave to your house. Maybe some luxuries won't be possible anymore – the world won't end because of that. Salary increases will also come.

Please make sure to consider all costs marked as [Bauseits]. There are also threads here, for example, why house construction keeps getting more expensive, which I would look at again.
