Hello everyone,
we are planning the construction of a single-family house with underfloor heating (approx. 200 sqm for 4 people). The energy standard will be the Energy Saving Ordinance 2016, not the KFW standard. Thermal insulation bricks, 36.5 cm (lambda 0.08) and triple glazing (Uw 0.8). The construction description from the construction company includes a gas condensing boiler (Vaillant ecoTecplus standard efficiency 109%), a solar collector system (7.53 sqm) and a combi storage tank (600/170 liters). This is also recommended to me by the construction company. The construction company advises against a heat pump. However, I am now uncertain because an acquaintance strongly recommends the installation of a heat pump with underfloor heating. I would be very happy to receive answers, recommendations and experiences.

Why? Because of the acquisition costs?

Again the question "Why?"

Both work well - gas and heat pump.

P.S. I advise against both. You should definitely install a pellet heating system. Why? No idea. The other two don't give any reasons either. ;-)

We are also currently building and have a solar system with a condensing gas heater. However, a smaller buffer of only 400. This was recommended to us by the construction company because heating this smaller buffer as a compact system is much more efficient.

Gas is great. Your acquaintance has no clue. Heat pumps are more expensive in every way and less flexible. Also more expensive to repair.

As the Brit says: technology has to be: simple, rugged, reliable. The German loves it differently, especially the Baden-Württemberg resident with the cuckoo clock gene likes it high tech and very very precise....only: with the Brits the helicopters fly, ours are broken, theirs are at sea, ours are in the shipyard, their rifles shoot, ours shoot awry....that's how it is with the heating systems too. I'm surrounded by air-water heat pumps, the service company cars are always standing there fiddling with them because the electricity meter went crazy again or the house didn't get warm...we are three gas boilers in the street, numbers 3,5,7. We never have any problems. Always warm, all fine, everything runs, simple, rugged, reliable indeed. That's how it is in the real world. K.

Or did you possibly misunderstand your acquaintance. When using a heat pump, one should/must always install underfloor heating. The correct design of the entire system is important, which often does not take place.

Gas is simple and also forgives the occasional design error. Unfortunately, many heating engineers still work according to the motto "we have always done it this way."
