I naturally disregard the depreciation, the car is 3 years old and should still last a good 10 years at the mileage of 9,000km/year.

Well, maybe the engine, the rest or many small things...

But then a new one will probably be needed, and money must be available for it. €50 per month amounts to €6,000 in 10 years (simplified). It probably won’t be quite enough, but these €50 should definitely be planned for.

When my partner goes back to work after 3 years, there will also be more to save. Additionally, there are bonus payments at my job, which I do not want to include directly in the financing.

And exactly for these reasons, "one" on average calculates with 500,- €. (You forgot reserves, most are NOT car mechanics and the 1% rule also costs money) And everyone who has an overview of their car costs can confirm this.

My calculations (based on bookkeeping) result in roughly the following rule of thumb for the compact cars in our family:
150/month so that the car can come onto the yard.
150/month so that the car may leave the yard.
150/month so that the car can also leave the yard.

And we are quite close to average purchase prices and annual mileage.

A small car costs about 12,000 euros, with 60 months RND (great if it lasts longer) that makes 200 euros/month, tax and insurance are another 50 euros/month, every three years 900 euros for 8 tires is also 25 euros, inspection costs 300 euros per year, so also 25 euros. 100 euros for fuel... That already puts us at 400 euros per month. Anyone who claims that a car costs less than 250-300 euros per month simply cannot be taken seriously, unless the car is unregistered in the garage... Oh yes, such a garage also costs money, and washing too, antifreeze and many other small things.
