What you earn is what my unskilled buddy in construction indoors makes..., also a 40-hour week. It just doesn't fit the plan and you will notice with 2 kids that it will be tight. We had a similar income at 29 and only took out 250k. That fits.

The salaries of some members are heavily badmouthed here... That borders on arrogance!!!!!!

Who is talking down what here?
No one says the salary is bad! But it is simply not sufficient for the project. Or do you want to claim otherwise?

And for an economically strong region like, for example, Frankfurt, it is just not particularly above average.
You may think it's stupid, but that's the way it is!
And that without any arrogance.

No, not arrogance, just opening eyes and protecting from stupidity. In and around Frankfurt, the income is okay but not great. Take a look at the cost of living. And even security personnel earn more without special qualifications... I can understand the wish, but the banks are right if a maximum of 450k is possible. I would set it even lower because of the fact that there are children! 500k with 4% (2% repayment, 2% interest with full financing) equals 1,666.66€. Then the additional costs, and we are at 2,100€ for the house every month, and mathematically at 25 years of repayment! That's almost an income of both! One goes part-time, a child comes. Can they manage with 1,600€ per month for three people? Fuel, food, clothing, vacation

And that is why one has to tell someone else that his supposed acquaintance earns the same as him as a construction worker without an apprenticeship?!?

Even if that is the case, you don’t write something like that and rub it in their face! Quite simple.

But you do when you bring someone down to the ground of facts and give them a food for thought. Possibly also an incentive to leave the comfort zone and focus on the goals. I want a house = children = need money = income is not enough = initiate measures. These can be earning more income and/or lowering expectations. Lowering expectations also means saving equity at the expense of consumption.
