Is a multisplit air conditioner suitable for heating?

I have one more question, how did it go with the electrician? Did you have to find an electrician yourself? If yes, then how did the timing arrangements work?

What I mean is that with my offers, I have to find the electrician myself and therefore I have to try to make sure the electrician does not come too early, otherwise he just stands around awkwardly, which costs money! And he should not come too late either, otherwise the air conditioning technician is gone, and if problems arise, I am left not knowing what to do?

Approximate cost for the electrician?

Have a nice Sunday :)

What are you supposed to provide on-site according to the offer? A permanently present electrician? ;-)

In my case, the supply line to the outdoor unit – that’s how the entire system is powered – had to be present. I already had power on the roof anyway, so that was already arranged.
The HVAC technician connects the outdoor unit to it, from there he runs cables together with the refrigerant lines to the indoor units. Done.

I don’t know exactly how much the electrician costs; he hasn’t sent an invoice yet. About 150€. I only needed one cable (3x2.5mm) power supply line to the outdoor unit. The rest of the cables to the indoor units were all supplied by the air conditioning guy. It would have been absolute nonsense to have the electrician do that. He runs it through the same installation channels and the indoor units are connected at the outdoor unit. So you only need one power cable per outdoor unit from the electrician, on a 16A fuse in my case.

Hello everyone,
I am currently looking for a solution to replace my gas heating system, as it will not last much longer due to severe scaling. Of course, an air-to-water heat pump is the most obvious choice, but I am also interested in possibly using an air conditioning unit as a heater. In combination with a photovoltaic system, it could also provide cooling in the summer.
It is a 120m2 end-of-terrace house built in 1963, which was renovated in 2007 (aluminum windows, pipes, electrical system, and roof).

If an air conditioning unit or a multi-split system is considered, it should function as the sole heating system, although I wonder what happens with the bathroom and hallway? Infrared panels would, of course, be an option at least for the bathroom.

Does anyone have experience with this, and how does it perform in winter when it is really cold outside? What about noise and indoor air quality?
Thank you very much in advance

I now also have a multi-split system with 4 indoor units. I can only tell you how it has been in the summer so far: nice and cool and very quiet. You no longer have to keep the bedroom window open at night, a pleasant temperature is maintained constantly. After my gas price is increased to 15.88 cents/kWh starting 1.10.22, it will no longer be worthwhile to use underfloor heating and gas. I will use the air conditioning for heating. It has a SCOP value of 4.6. To put it simply: the electricity price would have to be over 73 cents/kWh for gas to be worthwhile. However, it is currently at 30 cents/kWh, the electricity price. Therefore, this winter gas will probably only be used for hot water, supported by 2 warm water solar collectors.

Of course that works. The heating capacity must of course match the heat demand of the building. However, heating with warm air is not exactly the most comfortable method.
