CAT cable in the utility room - not crimped?

There is, however, a difference between patching and further distribution to routers or switches.

I simply expect that when the electrician sells me a ridiculously expensive IP door intercom system that apparently can fly and spit fire, he also connects it properly and functionally. At least leading it to a patch panel so that I can then integrate it into my network. Otherwise, I could have just ordered all that crap online!

The electrician must be sick and tired of discussing this with what feels like 50% of the builders. So why doesn’t he offer it as standard?

The lamp is an end user and not comparable to the topic.

If he had at least done it properly, I would have been satisfied too. As it is, he created work for himself and caused me extra trouble.

A "LAN connection" in my opinion also includes the terminated end on the patch panel and socket. How is the electrician supposed to test (measure) their cables? Only raw cable ends if explicitly agreed upon. But that is probably wishful thinking. Construction service descriptions do not have to be understood by the client.

That is why it often states that no measurement is carried out or can be carried out (due to the missing port at the end).

Of course I did that. I plugged in the LAN cable for the receiver in the living room, plugged one into all four unmarked sockets in the utility room – nothing happened. So something seems to be wrong there.
