Is a bungalow in Walldorf feasible within our budget?

I didn’t look into it yesterday. The original poster can do that gladly.
There was also a legend about it... The plots all looked very small.
You can see the building window, and the question is whether you can even fit a bungalow in here.

This will be a residential area like we once discussed with aerial photos in the chatter thread. Remember?

Thanks again for your effort!

We will now definitely look at and get calculations for a two-story building. The bungalow was not an absolute must. More of a little dream.

What is important: The financing amount seems realistic to us and with the intended budget we will probably come close (+/- €50,000 wouldn’t be a disaster). Maybe a two-story house without a basement will even be a bit cheaper for us.

Yes, definitely! The financing amount is okay for now. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you, let me know how it goes from here.

I didn’t find these pictures bad at all. You just have to look at the land prices, 283,000 just for the plot! Some people here have already paid that for the entire house, as they inherited a 1000 sqm plot or built a long time ago or got it cheaply somehow. But that’s not the reality. Then you simply have less land, but you’re not less happy with it. Personally, it doesn’t bother me if my neighbor watches me grilling, if he feels like it, let him.

This is not meant to be derogatory. It is what it is: even our somewhat larger plot is considered tight and small by some. We are in a rural area where space is not yet pressing. 450 sqm is probably still very generous in prime locations, right? Row houses built upwards only need about +/-200 sqm... I mean the development plan. In these prime locations (Frankfurt, Munich, and others), it is more the norm to build two-story houses. This is also established by the authorities. How else would you build a bungalow on 450 sqm, that would be wasted space. That’s where city planners come into play. Everything has its reason.

But it comes across as so derogatory. 450 [sqm] is actually still generous in prime locations. In our development area, they divided a 700 [sqm] plot into 2x350 [sqm] because no one could have afforded that plot. I really think that's a shame, but at some point it will be completely unaffordable to have a detached single-family house and a garden as well. A neighbor on the street with 1000 [sqm] also scoffs at the plot size in the development area, he can do that because he has it, but he should first be able to find a plot at that time and pay for it, then we could talk. But I know what you mean, it's just the reality in many places.

Only, why put oneself through that? A single-family house at a price of half a million plus with [REH] feeling. Then I'd just buy a [REH] or [MRH] and save a lot of money. Karsten
