Is a basement in a single-family house useful or rather too expensive?

Such a waste of space. The ladder on the right is of course supposed to be folded up, you could even place a fully equipped workbench there. Irresponsible to deal with valuable garage space like this!

Most people who build without a basement also don’t have the money for a proper garage, that’s my experience. And anything smaller than 60 m² is not a garage anyway, just a broom closet. Wishing you a nice weekend

Sorry, only a carport with a tool shed in which tools are stored that also wouldn’t belong in the basement. Apart from that, who on earth puts strollers and bicycles in the basement? I assume that these things are also stored somewhere on the ground level in the existing basement.
