Intensive greening garage for vegetable cultivation

Hello everyone,

we are planning a double garage (6*9m) and are considering intensively greening it (meaning 40cm of soil buildup) to grow vegetables, fruits, etc. there. Does anyone have experience with how much the garage itself will cost more (per m^2 it must be able to bear 500kg weight – meaning different statics than standard) and how much such greening approximately costs?

In general, I would also be interested in general experiences with such roof usage. :-)

Is the garage in the basement level or on the same level as the garden? I am only asking because I find it hard to imagine maintaining the vegetables (watering every day, weeding, etc., and regularly bringing compost soil, etc. to the roof if it could only be reached through the house entrance or stairs).

It will be a standard garage with stairs leading up and a water connection.

Then I would already leave it for the reasons mentioned above!

Apart from the soil that occasionally needs to go on the roof and possibly waste that needs to go down, that was about it.
