Hello!
My girlfriend and I are moving into a new apartment and we put together and ordered our own Metod kitchen from Ikea.
Now I somehow have concerns about our dishwasher.
We bought a semi-integrated dishwasher from Siemens: SN55N85EU.
According to the datasheet, it has the following dimensions: niche dimensions (815-875 mm high, 600 mm wide, 550 mm deep).
The dishwasher, being semi-integrated, has no front, no top plate, no sides.
Metod cabinet (80 cm) Metod leg (7 cm) = 87 cm total.
That would fit the height of the dishwasher. We will adjust it accordingly.
At first, we thought we only needed to buy a front.
Here we would buy a Metod door with approximately the front dimensions and possibly trim it at the bottom.
However, I have the following concerns:
To the right of the dishwasher is a Metod cabinet.
To the left of the dishwasher it is open (you can see the housing).
- Are there matching decorative sides that I can use here?
Ikea also offers decorative strips for the area of the feet.
We have enough of those for the entire kitchen.
These are about 8 cm high. The dishwasher (in the manual) states that at least 9 cm is required.
Since the dishwasher will be raised by about 55 mm, we would need a decorative front about 14.5 cm high.
- Should we rather put the dishwasher inside a Metod cabinet here? Is that possible?
I just don’t want the kitchen to look great overall, but the dishwasher looks patchy here and there everywhere.
Has anyone had experience with this? I mean with semi-integrated dishwashers?
Best regards, Peter
