Hello everyone,
we have a plot with a south orientation (16*26.3m) and are currently gathering ideas for our future house. We have already walked through new development areas to get inspiration but so far we have seen few houses that match our ideas (two-story with shed roof or recessed top floor). Now we continue searching the internet and I would be happy to see some pictures of your houses that correspond to our ideas.
We are allowed to build two stories with the following framework conditions:
THmin: 5.5m
THmax: 7.5m
FHmax: 12m
I have attached an excerpt from the building regulations in case there are specific questions about it.

How would you orient the shed roof? Facing south to install a photovoltaic system (disadvantage: very "massive" street front due to the height)
Or facing north: No photovoltaic system can be installed meaningfully

Is it possible to use the attic space effectively with a shed roof? Who has experience with that? What must be considered in new construction?

Best regards

Google throws up a bunch of photos:

Orienting: on a plot, which is not known here... do you belong to the WA section 2-4? Or are you in WA 1 after all? Do the 25 degrees also apply to shed roofs? I didn’t see that quickly... that is a very steep pitch for a shed roof...

I would rather plan my house oriented from inside to outside. In other words: my floor plan would be more important to me than the efficiency of a photovoltaic system.

First, you can try to manage with two full stories. I would also base everything on personal needs. An older couple probably does not need a third floor, a family with 3 children could plan a basement substitute room or a parent level upstairs. You can also sketch sections of shed roof houses like other houses. That way you can see well how much space is still available. So first write down the room program and work with that. That would be my tip :)

We are WA II. Orientation will not depend on photovoltaic. It just crossed my mind. I have attached a screenshot of the plan regarding the location. X is our property. I have marked north. I am also diligently searching through Google, but further inspirations are always good :)

For inspiration, it's definitely worth taking a look at Pinterest. If a photovoltaic system is not planned right away, I would definitely not want to rule it out but at least take all preparations (cable routes, statics, etc.) into account during construction.

That is very unusual and I would like to read about it myself. Who are you anyway, i.e. what kind of needs profile do you have as a resident family, and where is the plot located? I never recommend developing a house based on the building body, and I also do not find it nice to put Frisian gables in the Alps.

I have included a screenshot of the determination table. I only have the development plan as a PDF and cannot upload it. The property is located in the Rhineland in the Heinsberg district.

We have already thought a lot about the house, what we like and what we don't (based on the questionnaire in the floor plan forum). Now the architect's requirement is that we create a collage with houses/elements that we like before we start detailed planning.
