But you can (caution - without a link!) say what it is called.

That is a very commendable approach (and sounds like a proper, real architect).

From the GEE Erkelenz, construction area Oerather Mühlenfeld, either the overview sheet or sheet 3

In this case, the option of a split/staggered shed roof should be considered. Photovoltaics facing south, street front no longer so massive.

The massiveness of a shed roof can be softened by opting for an asymmetrical gable roof, meaning a short steep part facing the street and a long flat part facing the garden, which offers a lot of photovoltaic surface area. With a shed roof, I find the achievable rising room height particularly interesting, not the possibility of creating an attic underneath. I also like the possibility of realizing two complete floor levels in an open room with a very large air volume. Of course, that causes the price per square meter to explode and doesn't suit every living preference. We love it, but our house is not a standard one that every family can and wants to live in. Photovoltaics on a north-facing roof are significantly less efficient but feasible within flat angles and excluding usual economic viability.

just posted the same idea while I was writing.

I can't find any overview or sheet 3 at the GEE, and the city has several plans as well, including additions East and West and 3rd and 4th amendment – which plan is "yours"?
