just try a bing image search for Stadtvilla. there are already quite a few that look villa-like. especially when single-story utility buildings adjoin on the left and right, so that it’s not just a simple tent, or or or…

if you leave all that out, it obviously looks plainer. Our Stadtvilla is also just a residential cube with a tent roof. square, practical, good. nothing "Villa"-like, even though the living room open space on the ground floor is 75 m² and we have four bathrooms

That’s approximately how we want to build as well. However, with shutters, exclusively floor-to-ceiling windows, and all windows arranged symmetrically from the outside. It seems to be harder to find such a simple house, a house without bay windows, conservatories, dormers, and different window formats than just a plain, simple house.

May I dare ask, please just ignore this if it’s too personal, whether you have hired a cleaning person for the four bathrooms? For that reason, I would actually prefer to have only two small bathrooms (shower bathroom about 4 sqm, bathtub bathroom about 8 sqm), but now at my husband’s request, it will be two normally sized bathrooms.

I find it illogical... small bathroom equals little freedom of movement equals tiring to clean. In a large bathroom, it’s the same things that need to be cleaned. And those few extra square meters of floor are the least amount of work...

Counter-question: what is a villa to you, OP?

When I think of a villa, I always picture an Art Nouveau villa in my mind, and the houses I perceived as villas during my childhood and youth were also Art Nouveau villas. However, I have already realized that I am probably too limited in that view.
