I find "old-fashioned" completely fine (many would probably describe shutters that way too, even though I appreciate them), but you really have to like terraced houses. For me, terraced houses are horizontally built condominiums.

So what? Do you have something against apartments? Unlike condominiums, with a terraced house you own the land and don’t have communal costs.

Terraced houses, sorry, townhouses are very practical where there is hardly any building land left or household income isn’t that high. Besides, they are good starter properties for young families.
