Hello,

we are going to build a house and I am one of those who already plans everything down to the smallest detail in advance so that no unpleasant surprises await us in the end. Since it is not always possible to think of everything, I would appreciate your criticism and opinion on our kitchen planning. The background is that we already own an Ikea kitchen and we want to integrate it as much as possible (almost) completely and expand it with the remaining cabinets.

A little explanation of where what is located, since I believe it is not so clearly visible and partly faulty in the 3D view:

Wall row from left to right:
- Refrigerator with freezer below
- Lower cabinet for pots, pans, etc., what you need when cooking
- Cooktop with oven below and integrated extractor hood above
- Lower cabinet with cooking utensils like wooden spoons, etc.
- Sink, possibly with a drip cabinet above or a normal one
- Sink with drawer for sponge, cleaning agents and drawer with trash bins
- Dishwasher

The kitchen island is mainly for cutting, mixing, preparing, and has several sockets integrated. The cabinets contain plates, dishes, bread, muesli, cups, cutlery, everything you need for every meal. At the front there is an extension with two sockets for charging the phone and for a raclette grill

I almost see our kitchen layout in yours.. I assume the door is supposed to lead to a pantry. Maybe our designs and the finished result will help you with your planning..

The kitchen looks like in an apartment: a kitchen unit plus an ill-conceived work block. It has the feel of a pre-made unit just placed there.

I would miss tall cabinets for a higher-placed oven and dishwasher.

I'll say... the overall coherence of the spatial concept is missing. And, you are always working with your back to the room... I would integrate the sink into the island, like .

It looks like you sometimes lose sight of the big picture during the detailed planning. There is no connection to the living space visible, and there is also no information about lifestyle preferences. How is one supposed to give any advice on that?

A tip: Ikea kitchens do not have a standard depth and therefore cannot be combined with "non-IKEA" standard countertops. We solved this with custom cutting in the children's apartments.
