As ktb writes, without any conditions one cannot say anything about it.

Thank you very much for your numerous responses and the feedback so far.

The 3D view is, as mentioned, only roughly accurate and there are, for example, dark tiles at the back on the wall, one of the wall cabinets is a display cabinet with a glass front for variety.

As for the background: We are a young family of four. I would very much like to cook and prepare food together with friends and family in the future. I have attached the living space as a whole. The left door in the 3D view leads to the utility room with a little storage space as a pantry.

Next to the sink, I would have liked to have a tall cabinet with an integrated oven, but then it was too tight with the sink and the stove.

I see no advantage in integrating the sink into the kitchen island, so I would rather not pay an extra charge for the pipe installation. Not much is washed by hand with us; almost everything goes into the dishwasher. What is washed in the sink is then cut and prepared on the cooking island.

We did not integrate the stove into the kitchen island in the plan because a solution for the extractor hood would have to be found again. I already had experience at a friend's place with an extractor hood integrated into the stove; however, it did not convince me. I also do not like an overhead extractor hood because then there is a device hanging in the middle of the room again.

In my opinion, we therefore do not really have many options.
But I am happy if you can convince me of something better

The wall barrier between the dining table and the table would bother me eventually... So close and yet so far, because you always have to walk around it to set or clear the table. I would prefer to place the table solo and make the kitchen island usable from both sides. Then you can also cook well together. With kids, friends...

Maybe even install the dishwasher on the living room side, so you can load it right from the dining table.

And that is why the sink should particularly be located in the kitchen island. That way, you don't have to push things from one side to the other, you can quickly clean the knife while chopping (first chicken, then vegetables or so) and so on. A well-placed sink allows one person to work on the right and another on the left side of the sink, possibly even on the corner, making it both social and practical.

I think the cutting area(s) belong next to the cooktop. In the planned kitchen, given my cooking habits, I see myself using the not exactly ample space between the sink and the cooktop for cutting. The island would then be a surface for storing all sorts of things. In our kitchen, there is a row and a half-island – the sink is in the row, the cooktop at the edge of the island. This provides an enormous amount of cutting space. What is missing is counter space for cooling cakes or similar. Hopefully, that will improve once there aren’t two children sitting on the island “helping” anymore and also once my husband has realized that it’s not a place for mail, tools, and junk. And my routines have adapted better to the kitchen. Actually, there is enough space there.

Maybe it's just my perspective, but everything seems very tight and small for that. A more open concept would suit that much better. In the rear area, two people would constantly get in each other's way. It's not dimensioned, but the door allows about 1m of space between the island and the other side when closed? Then there can't be many friends there. The area of the TV corner (couch + table + TV) is significantly larger. Since we don't have a TV ourselves (only a projector as needed), just subjectively: But maybe the right side can be reduced, the kitchen space increased – and then really cook with friends!
