Hello everyone,
we just gave it a try and bought a 90 cm door and the narrow drawer (approx. 9 cm), which is actually intended for installation under the oven when using the simple base cabinet.
As described above, we got the rails (IKEA sent them to us free of charge!). The first problem, however: the holes for the hinges in the 90 cm door are about 0.5 cm further away from the top/bottom edge than with the door we had before (57 cm). By the way, this also applies to the 34 cm door, which I initially wanted to combine with the 57 cm one. Does anyone know the reason for this? The result: the door now hangs about 0.5 cm higher than the door of the "neighboring" tall cabinet, even though I raised its doors to the maximum and lowered the 90 cm door to the maximum (this can be seen in the photo).
Installing the oven rails was no problem, even though I had to get the drill because the mounting strip is not compatible with the 3 pre-punched rows of holes in the tall cabinet (is this normal or did the IKEA employee send us the wrong model?).
By the way, the aforementioned stability is no problem with our solution. The only thing is that the oven does not sit as firmly on the rail as on the shelf and slips about 0.5 cm back and forth when shaken vigorously (on the shelf it was easy to pull it out if you pulled too hard on the handle). I still have to figure something out.
Otherwise, we are a bit bothered by the two remaining gaps above and below the oven (each a little less than 1 cm), but since we definitely did not want to give up the storage space (the alternative would have been the microwave), we now have to consider whether we want to accept that.
Here is the picture:
P.S.: Don’t listen too much to the IKEA kitchen planners. They often only know the basic dimensions but often don’t know what the end result will be. It’s best to plan carefully yourself. The IKEA planner might then help find some original solutions. In several cases, their ideas did not work out in reality or were unsuitable for us.
