How much house can we afford?

As part of the housing promotion, 3€ per sqm was calculated for the new construction. The bank had used a similar value. However, we will actually end up at around 2 euros, at least according to my estimate as of today.

Ok, it looks a bit different for us for a single-family house with around 160 m2, especially regarding water:

Property tax 750
Garbage 185
Water and sewage 1300
Insurance 570
Internet 600
Electricity 3000
Chimney sweep 110
Maintenance of small sewage treatment plant 230
Maintenance of photovoltaic and heat pump 200 (I’ll take half because we are not really conscientious here)

That’s around 3.60 euros. About 800 euros are missing annually to reach 4 euros.

So I revise my statement about 4 euros per m2 and say:
It strongly depends on the circumstances.

That's currently over 10,000 kWh for heating and general electricity? How do you manage that – is an e-car included?

That should be somewhere around or above 200 cubic meters. Proper garden irrigation included?

Yep – but you are the outlier on the high end.

That is then 9000-10000 kWh. That is enough for household electricity and heat pump as well as for 5 kids who play games all the time. I also find 1300€ for water very much. At our prices, roughly estimated, that would be about 200 cbm. We were at 60 last year.
