Thank you very much.

In the meantime, the decorative gravel has also been installed, the first wall is finished, the area above the terrace has been filled, and grass has been sown.

The decorative gravel will be a little darker.
The benches will still be clad with Cumaru decking boards, and next to the house the wall will be extended to the front.

So there is still some work to do. But it is really nice to see such a project grow step by step.

I am going to take pictures in a moment, then you can see for yourself. After discussing materials at length with our garden landscaper, we decided on paving. The driveway, courtyard, circular path around the house, and both terraces were paved. It looks harmonious and is low-maintenance. Additionally, we had the condition that everything must be water-permeable.

I can only agree with Thorsten there. Very beautiful outdoor area.

: The paving work was carried out by the landscape gardener, but the paving stones were purchased by us from the specialist trade. It was important to us to have a path around the house and that in the worst case only one step needs to be overcome at the entrance area.

Paving can be lifted again at any time if it should sink. It also does not need to be painted or oiled every year. It is not slippery when wet and provides the water permeability required by the administration = lower surface drainage costs.
Disadvantage: Nature takes its course and occasionally lets a little herb sprout in the joints. However, there are enough practical, biologically harmless, and quick solutions for this small problem.

One of the main reasons I paved my terrace with water-permeable stones. I will have the driveway done the same way in 2017.

It doesn’t look as charming as wood. Crystal clear.

But I didn’t want the work.

I was told: This terrace lasts 40 years.....

I don’t regret deciding on paving stones.
Durable. Low maintenance. Weeds sometimes come through the joints..... are quickly gone.
A bit of green algae from winter: pressure washer, paving attachment cleaning brush, gone. 20 minutes.

(unfortunately, last week a part of the cleaner’s connection flew off around my ear... broken, had to order a new one. But it wasn’t the cleaner’s fault; I, dumb bunny, trained for my hip by cleaning and knocked the device over.... slightly irreparably damaged the housing)

Best regards
Thorsten
