We have been using a Roborock S5 Max for a year. We like the device. We always let it run room by room. In the bedroom, for example, I always let it vacuum once and the second time it also mops. Rooms with carpets, of course, are only vacuumed. I believe you can even exclude carpets in the software, but I still haven't taken the time to deal with it. These devices are good for basic cleaning but do not replace a proper hand cleaning. Since dust and loose dirt are greatly reduced by the robot, manual cleaning has to be done less often. You especially have to look into the corners because the robots have problems there.

I think the Ecovacs will not be inferior to the Roborock.

Correction: For a few weeks now, we have had a very cheerful cleaning helper in the house. So I am now ordering a service after all.

Cool, it was still planned back then and now we have had the Roborock s7 for 3 months. I wonder why we didn’t buy it earlier.
Fascinating how coordinated it moves and how clean it makes.

Your post is so arrogant that it’s sickening.. I hope you don’t really mean it that way or that you aren’t that conceited.

I read it differently and took away the information that apparently has a fairly well-off daughter.

Of course not. But there are neutral reports and some knowledge that rounds and corners don’t fit, even if there are still so many brush arms. Ask yourself if you would trust it. Would it be a replacement or “for the rough stuff” and then you still have to go over it by hand. Not only the relevant review sites are somewhat divided in their ratings: very good on large surfaces, but rather poor on details. On large surfaces, you’re also quick with a simple mop. Cleaning and hygiene for occasional cleaning with the device doesn’t sound good or better, rather just so-so... In total, you end up having to do some hand work again. In my opinion, the devices are too expensive for that. And no, if you’re asking whether I tested one: exactly for the reasons above, I think it’s not worth the money. But in my opinion, everyone should answer the hygiene question for themselves, hence my answer. And for you, costs also seem to play a role.

I've now somewhat parked it back on the skepticism side. ;)

My wife is not so enthusiastic about it. She thinks that the device wouldn't be used as intensively as our robot vacuum or the cordless handheld vacuum.

Actually, we would prefer a proper mopping robot. One with similar technology (rollers that clean themselves immediately) and not some lame cloth that is just slightly dampened.

Unfortunately, I haven't found anything like that...
