Ah, so it would be an idea to also lay 2 cables into the living room and maybe (I have to really think about it) into the children's rooms? Or can the receivers generally handle processing 2 channels over one cable? I would like to be able to record one channel and watch another.

You must always use two coax cables - otherwise it would only work with transmitters on one transponder.

I would always supply the children's room - they grow up and eventually have TV needs. Or the rooms get used differently...

The children will definitely get a TV. I don’t want to have to argue later with a moody teenager about the evening TV program. Only whether they get 2 cables so they can record as well, I don’t know yet.

You need one cable per device, meaning: if you want to watch TV and record on different channels, you need 2 cables coming from the multiswitch at that point.

In the children's rooms, one cable is enough because I hardly think more than watching TV happens there. The rest comes from the internet or the hard drive...

We didn't do that - who seriously still actually records nowadays?
