I like the basic idea of a simple, compact house as much as possible. The kitchen as a central place is a statement about lifestyle preference. In the implementation, I have a few question marks:
[*]The stair height in the passage from the entrance area to the living area poses a risk of bumping your head for somewhat taller people. Overall, the passage is very narrow.
[*]The bathroom upstairs is very tight. Depending on the knee wall height, you will probably want to position the head side of the bathtub towards the center of the house. Only slim people can get past the sink.
[*]I don't understand the bedroom part next to the bathroom. How will this area be used? It could ease the very tight bathroom situation if the room were added to the bathroom.
[*]The entrance area is very tight for a family of four. Some jackets and shoes will have to find space elsewhere. (Am I right in assuming that children are planned but not yet there?)
Thanks for your thoughts.
- The bathroom upstairs is exactly the same size as mine or even 0.5m2 larger with the same arrangement. It definitely works well. So it was oriented accordingly.
- The hallway is dead space for us; we only wanted to make it as large as necessary. The space next to the stairs can be slightly reduced, but the stairs are already high enough there so that you can pass comfortably. We want to design a möglichst offenes, weitläufiges Raumkonzept.
- The part in the bedroom next to the bathroom is actually about 8m2 in size and can be used as a workspace or, prospectively, arranged in such a way that it can be separated by a flexible room divider. We first had the workspace separate, but then you somehow get so many small rooms. Instead, we wanted to create a spacious feeling upstairs in the room. Secretly, I actually want to set up a fitness corner there and put the workspace in one of the KZs as long as there are no children yet. It will be a while until both are needed. We are currently 26/27 years old.
The house measures 8.54m x 10.75m.
