Nowhere is anyone whining. I don’t know what you are reading.
The OP asked a fairly normal question, even though they probably already expected pushback.
A simple "I don’t think it’s a good idea" would have been enough. But no, people have to bash. Because anonymously on the internet it feels so good to stroke one’s own ego...

Oh, and you are all on the Knecht Ruprecht trip?
So far there have been only answers advising the OP not to think about building a house in the current situation—and he has not once responded and rejected these answers.
And yet you think he only understands with a club?
What qualifies you to make this assessment?

If I were the mother of five partially dependent children, the youngest a newborn, I would already have a real problem if the father is building the house "for years," and I can see how I manage everything. Of course, the parents have to resolve this together. However, please consider that in such a constellation, time is the scarcest resource and personal effort is only possible at the expense of the family. Therefore, one must carefully consider what is realistic - even if the skills are present.

I can't even begin to understand why you see the OP's post as deserving protection! Some people - completely justified - bash such questions on the internet, others bash creditors in real life with their careless behavior.

Because after all, the tone makes the music, and that is something you actually learn in kindergarten. In terms of content, we all share the same opinion here. Only some fail to express their opinion without being offensive, derogatory, and/or simply arrogant and self-righteous – and this is definitely not the first time in this thread. And I just find that unacceptable. I no longer want to silently ignore how much some people here overshoot the mark.

Unfortunately, there still hasn't been any response to the question of where you want to build?

I don't understand how some people here can't hold back and fail to contribute constructively.

As I already mentioned, in certain areas it is definitely possible to build for 400,000 euros, just with a lot of personal effort. Nevertheless, I would recommend saving for 2-3 years and using that time to look for an existing building. It doesn't have to be in the East either, we live in NRW and found a great existing building for 200,000 euros, which would also be enough for 5 children.

I was not free of sins in my youth either, but I managed to turn things around. Others can do it too.

He is now 33 and has 7 children/foster children. And is still paying off debts.

He devalues our time and says we just sit at home on vacation.. I suspect everyone who has built something and is not a millionaire has done handiwork at home.

Then he imagines that reading a book and doing a two-week internship qualifies him to "build" a house.

So now to speak of moralizing and that we don't develop any sympathy, are you surprised?

And the very best, he has gotten answers but only responds to those who criticize him.

To me, he is an immature child with immature thoughts.

Have a nice evening.
