The problem with us "high earners" is: Unfortunately, we usually have quite expensive demands (flooring, bathroom, kitchen, SmartHome, etc.). In our initial building considerations, I assumed 1300 EUR per sqm.
I think that for the "high earner" the money sometimes goes to his head, so that he harbors such fantastic wishes compared to the common folk. That was a joke
But the earned money has to be shown off – nothing below 200 sqm, granite and marble are installed, and everything has to be a notch better than the... common folk
At the same time, for example, with us it is such that we do not earn little, so comparable... we don’t get any bonus and we also have to finance the cars.
But we don’t have kids at home.
Still, somehow our wishes have always been affordable without a stomach ache.
Maybe it’s because we both have our own income. We both have more or less a 40-hour week and can split the money together.
Sometimes you save here and there – instead of steak, pizza, and the window sills made of marble only cost us €90 instead of €900 extra...
It’s not uncommon, especially here (also heard and experienced frequently in private), that the woman at home supports the back of the well-earning man. And with whom does the main earner surround himself? With like-minded people in suits in well-equipped offices and sometimes in hotels, business dinners in good restaurants, etc. Then you certainly want to have the same standard also in the newly built home.
Our offices and my company car are simpler and cheaper to top, but as I said: we have two incomes – so sometimes even a high single income can’t keep up when it comes to the extra wishes in house building.
