Don’t you have a car (or even 2?) Then add another 300 (up to unlimited) per vehicle.

Most will probably not build a house for 1.5 million DM, but rather want to stay slightly to significantly below 500,000 euros.

The professional activity is not uninteresting. For forum members, it is virtually obligatory to state it. One can simply give more precise tips when one knows where to start. It is tedious to explain everything from zero to someone when you can also start at 15.

Those who strongly resist that have no need for serious help or have something to hide, don’t play with open cards, etc... then it simply stops being fun.

There is some truth to that... at least from a certain income level. I’m not necessarily talking about a €5000 or €6000 net family income yet. I actually don’t know anyone who hasn’t adjusted their standard of living to their income when it rises significantly. I have even done it the other way around in my life (in younger years) First raised the standard of living and then adjusted the income accordingly. That worked very well because it created a lot of pressure. That helps some people

Ultimately, I also have no guarantee that we will get the €500,000 paid back Anything is possible. Done in a few years with private insolvency. For a private insolvency, even a stupid illness is enough. BUT what can you do? If you assumed such events, only civil servants would be allowed to finance.

Regards, Steffen

Of course, you adjust the standard to the income - according to priority... I myself don’t need 200 sqm (at least not without household help), nor marble etc. in the bathroom. I would probably invest most of it in garden design and my secret dream with a 3,000 € immediate pension would be to hire a cook...

Anyway, my priority would be different anyway, if only because of the attitude towards work, I’d rather see my husband more often for a bit less income, you never know how much time you actually have together.

Greetings from the rabble / and now back to the point,
I'm curious how our financing will eventually be dissected here

Well, you can't really play with more open cards than this, I've already unpacked everything here, and the fact that I'm not unpacking the job description now shouldn't be a problem. I think it's great that everyone shares their opinion and it's interesting to see how others view your own standpoint, which changes your own perception. And of course you're right, priorities do change, but for example I don't need marble or a super fancy kitchen, no laundry chute or some built-in vacuum cleaner, we just both simply like having a bit more "space" around us. And I currently love my garage at the house, so I can put the kids in the car with dry feet every morning or don't have to get into an ice-cold car in winter. That's my luxury.

Well, we don't have any of that either. No marble or laundry chute. It's little things like good flooring, lots of windows, a concrete ceiling under the attic, etc., that cost a lot of money. And it just adds up. Also, don't make the mistake of looking at hardware store prices.. because you only get hardware store goods there and you certainly don't want that. I used to think, "oh, there are cheap and still nice parquet floors." Experts quickly show you the differences. Example: tiles from hardware stores.. measure them precisely. I didn't believe it until I saw it myself.
