Hello Project, in the prefabricated house industry it is normal that salespeople are independent sales agents and unfortunately often change their employer quite frequently. So it might be that your salesperson has not been with the company long enough yet to be able to show reference houses. Just get in touch with the manufacturer directly.

Hi,

I agree with you there. Nevertheless, I had the chance to meet an older gentleman here who studied civil engineering and apparently understands the subject matter very well. Of course, THEY sell THEIR product as THE BEST (everyone does). It's up to me to separate the wheat from the chaff, clearly.

I myself am still one level below, namely weighing up WHAT we build (solid/timber frame) and then HOW (model home providers, regional companies).

Together with you, I am here distinguishing a bit between the pros and cons and trying to find experiences. There are literally millions of providers... comparing them all is nonsense!

I know 3 couples who built with Keitel-Haus and are/were very satisfied. Everything went smoothly and they were supported with everything (building permit, rejection/alternative, etc.). The house was completed in about 4-5 months from the start of construction. We also initially had a conversation with Keitel-Haus, but then decided to build with an architect. I can only say that the prefabricated house providers offered what the architect estimated. The prices of the "high-quality" prefabricated house providers are therefore very honest and not bait-and-switch offers.

Thanks for the feedback, milkie!

Nevertheless, may I ask why you still built with an architect? And how exactly does the construction then proceed? So the architect also builds turnkey for you.. right?

Best regards

We also had conversations with Keitel-Haus and I liked their wall construction. We definitely wanted an offer from Hacke as well, but somehow they have a communication problem. The saleswoman in the model home park was very terse and somewhat condescending. In our town, Hacke is selling plots of land and we called the responsible man several times. At first, we didn't receive any documents, then he stood us up for the appointment, then he wanted to call us back. Well - we're still waiting for that callback today. We also didn’t have good experiences with local home builders: appointment canceled, kicked out of the office because we didn’t like the initial design, etc. Ultimately, we decided on a solid house manufacturer from East Germany and are very satisfied so far. We planned completely freely with an architect from our area.

Of course. We build with individual contracts because we have one or two craftsmen we like to work with and because Keitel-Haus did not want to remove the window trade from the offer (they are installed at the factory), but we have a window maker in the family. At Keitel-Haus, own contributions are partially possible, but they themselves said that almost all builders actually take the complete 'package'. That is why we decided on individual contracts = architect.
