Base plaster is not a must have and as you can see everything is plastered, so there is nothing left to do here. Many have foregone it (us too).

And how did you clad and protect the base?

Protected from what exactly? We have, like most, an ETICS. Typically, there is a synthetic resin plaster on it. They no longer have the absorbent properties like the previously dominant mineral plaster systems. But still, the plaster is not in contact with the ground. In front of it is a splash guard with gravel, so the water does not accumulate there.

But the plaster is not applied all the way down to the ground, so there remains a section of bare foundation visible, possibly also some parts of the [WDVS]. That looks ugly and uncoated. Or what?

No, not really. Gravel strips in front. But we also step out on all sides at ground level from the building. If yours is built higher, it might be different, but even then you can just pull down the insulation and plaster.

Oh, well, you can see it in my photo. Without [Ockelputz], it would just be the bare foundation. We don't have insulation because the house is made of Ytong and manages without it. The house has no [WDVS]. Carsten
