Before moving on to the city villa, 1, 2 notes on water consumption:
the first cold water is good for the face, then comes warm water for brushing teeth. I don't see that as a loss of comfort.
In the kitchen we even throttled the hot water pressure, because I sometimes leave the water alone for 10 seconds when filling the sink and otherwise it becomes too hot for washing up (mind you the savings version: only 1/3 of the sink is filled)
But I also come from a house where we waited about 30 seconds in the bathroom – a small eternity – so 5 seconds of waiting time is a luxury
On the subject of saving water: the toilet flush should not be affected by saving, rather flush more often (lots of toilet paper -> multiple flushes) before the pipe gets clogged and also after every pee, before acid settles on the enamel. Every plumber has confirmed this attitude to me so far!
