Hello,

A happy new year and a friendly hello to everyone! I am currently putting together our new kitchen. For the front, the choice falls on "Ringhult" and it will be combined with the handle "Blankett." Now we are facing the purchase of the dishwasher. Originally, it was supposed to be a fully integrated dishwasher. According to our research, it apparently needs to be a large-capacity model with a Vario hinge. Also so that the 80 cm long fronts from Ikea fit. Correct us if we are wrong. However, doubts have arisen because the handle "Blankett" is attached on the inside of the door, which might interfere with the dishwasher. Is that the case? If so, we would tend to opt for a semi-integrated dishwasher. But what size should the front have? Does Ikea offer a suitable one? Or do I have to cut a custom-sized front?

Best regards and thanks in advance for tips and information!

For a semi-integrated device, ERSÄTTARE is used. The front then consists, for example, of a 20 cm and a cut-to-size 60 front. Beforehand, the assembly instructions for both ERSÄTTARE and the dishwasher should be studied to see if installation is possible. For a fully integrated device with Openassist, as it is called by Siemens, you don’t need a handle at all. I don’t know if using BLANKETT causes problems. Take a look in the dishwasher fronts thread. At the end, there is a user report. Maybe this user can say more about it.

Hello, I just wanted to quickly share that we ended up with the Siemens SX778D01TE. So, a fully integrated dishwasher. It features the Varioscharnier and Openassist. Installation and integration into the kitchen row posed no problems. Nothing additional had to be purchased. Simply equip the Ikea front door with the Siemens mounting parts (included) according to the instructions and hang it on the dishwasher front and screw it tight. Done! Since the dishwasher has OpenAssist, attaching the Blankett handles is not possible. The distance, since screwed from the inside to the door front, is simply too small for that. So if you want to attach the Blankett handles just for the look and overall appearance, you have to choose a device without OpenAssist. Otherwise, OpenAssist works perfectly. Just press briefly against the door and the dishwasher opens as if by magic. Easy! The dishwasher itself has plenty of programs and is the quietest I have had so far. A clear recommendation from me. Thanks again to @IKEA-Experte for tips and info!

@Leuchte Thank you for the feedback. I also want to buy the SX778D01TE and want to install a Lansa handle on the front. Would that work or can the Lansa handle also not be installed because of Openassist? The Lansa only requires 2 screws on the back of the front. If necessary, I could also use countersunk screws if the screw head would be a problem... Best regards Section Chief

Hello @SectionChief,

The thing is, there is very very little space between the door and the machine front. It is significantly less than 1mm. Therefore, only countersunk screws that truly disappear into the door should be used. Then it should not be a problem.

A few more tips/info for installation:

At one point, the user manual is faulty.
According to the instructions, a 13mm (wrench size) open-end wrench is needed for the front feet for height adjustment.
This is incorrect. You need a 17mm open-end wrench.

For the (height) fixation of the door on the machine front, a 20 Torx is required for the lateral attachment.
Here, a Torx screwdriver or an angled wrench is absolutely necessary. No bit socket, it does not fit into the recess.

The dishwasher comes with a drilling template designed for a front with a different width (594mm). The Ikea door front is about 3-4mm wider here. You take the dimension of the Ikea door front here and align the template centrally to it. If you have the instructions with the template in front of you, you will know what I mean. The door then fits exactly in the end.

For installing the machine, a niche dimension of 600-608mm is specified. Try to maintain around 602/603mm here. So about wider, not less. If you stick exactly to 600mm and the holes for fastening the door were not drilled cleanly according to the template, the door could hit/scratch the adjacent cabinets when opened. A little "play" is advantageous here. In the end, seals fill this gap and the lateral screw attachment fixes the door so that nothing can shift here.
