Check the commercial register, Crefo index and such fun. And builders’ forums, search term [company name]+[problems]. The commercial register at least shows the share capital, which you can relate to your order volume. Possibly your lawyer should then also be familiar with insolvency law. If you get into a taxi to the airport and the driver cheerfully heads towards the train station, you may be optimistic—but you don’t have to be.

The share capital says absolutely nothing about the current financial situation of a GmbH - absolutely nothing.

Not entirely: undercapitalization can often be inferred from it. A construction company that only increased its founding capital by 435 euros during the euro transition and now stands at a neat 25,600 will be rated as a risk patient by the roofing supplier after two late payments. What the excavators are worth hardly matters there. One would hardly believe with what a narrow foundation some companies dare to take on large contracts. The days when banks gladly went along with this balancing act are history. Suppliers without experience in obtaining credit information as well. In construction, there are weather-related delays, and with good economic conditions, scheduling problems between trades. If a construction company is then supplied "zug um zug," it spells disaster for the client.

I believe you have no idea what [Stammkapital] is. You might be confusing it with [Eigenkapital].

You can rest assured about that.

A new update on our "coma patient":

I spoke with the site manager yesterday:
- regarding the forgotten insulation, he told me that now a "032" insulation should be applied to the brine
- regarding the thermal bridges in the entrances and exits, the entire clinker is now supposed to be torn down again and reinstalled without thermal bridges. That suits us quite well, as the clinker really looks bad visually...
- The floor slab is supposed to arrive on Friday – studs for it are already set up

Today the final clarification is supposed to take place...
