Sorry, I don’t see the floor plan as final yet – there are still some hidden knots that cannot be fixed by moving walls.
On the topic of constructive criticism: I don’t see any approach in this jumble to quickly improve it.
Since we can still move walls or plan a half-spiral staircase at the moment, we are still open to feedback on our "jumble"
It would be good if criticism also came with detailed hints or suggestions for improvement, otherwise it’s pointless
Please read all this again. We don’t know the rest of the property, no site plan. Someone here already mentioned that, so one cannot make constructive comments at all. I am only objectively mentioning the things that don’t work. A staircase that doesn’t function, a chimney you bump into... Of course there is cupboard space in the kitchen, but not space for 3 or 4 people IN the kitchen. It’s not just one person standing there and the others in front of the counter being served. One cooks, the second has to get to the plates, then the third person comes and stands in front of the fridge... Or how is it if the kids cook along: then 3 people will be stepping on each other’s feet and won’t get past one another, at least it’s very difficult. You have to decide at the beginning: a bigger house design without a basement or something smaller and with a basement – it goes without saying that one or the other is no longer possible if the budget sets a limit. Just take a look on Google for house designs in your size: are the walls as intricate as yours? Maybe just reconsider whether is not right about the pantry, to include it in the hallway. Or why have a shower on a floor where there is no sleeping area? Why not have a shower where a sauna is supposed to go? And what I only now see: your room partition between dining and kitchen: nobody has space to sit at the counter! In a “small” ground floor, there is no room for a 2.20 m table, a kitchen island with counter, an additional kitchen/dining partition, pantry, shower, and fireplace – you can twist and turn that however you want. At least a layman can hardly or not at all implement that. Why do you stick to a room program that apparently causes you problems? You talked about the final draft at the beginning, and I’m of the opinion that you are still several months away from that if you don’t hand the matter to a planner or architect.
Regards, Yvonne
Edit: Remove the kitchen island, remove the sliding door, and plan an open-plan kitchen with L-shaped kitchen.
