Yes, I know what you mean. I just think shoes belong by the door to avoid walking through the house as much as possible. Especially in wet weather. Even if only a bit of slushy snow remains – I know who steps in it – me, with socks. A proper coat rack with enough storage space. Shoes slightly hidden behind a ledge. In the vestibule they also fly around and in the end you step on them with full hands or don't even see them.

Find your suggestion better already. Try it with another staircase.

Well, I don't see it as that critical. Against mud, water, and snow, you can install a doormat outside the front door. Then a regular floor mat inside. It actually works perfectly, even now when there's still gravel outside with us.

Forgive me, esteemed fellow discussants, if I dismiss your contributions as counterproductive, but from my point of view they are, because: a qualified discussion is unfortunately out of place when the diagnosis reads: D.A.S M.U.S.S N.E.U !

No. Even without an added questionable extra corridor, the clear excess of the actual area over the target area alone would already be a clear indicator of at least one omitted planning step. So we are not at the beginning of planning here, but have skipped the beginning of planning and are at least in the second gear. Where the file should already be working hard, one merely rubs the rasp hot. It does no one any good to fiddle around with the flawed design. Not everything about it is wrong and possibly the next one will be very similar, but nevertheless the design should be newly developed, this time please the old-fashioned way: first establishing the fundamentals, then the preliminary design, then the design. The sorcerer's apprentices always like to believe that if they've already practiced three times, they can start crosswise on the fourth project. But there is a reason why the old masters always start at the beginning with every project. Brooms, brooms, you have been!

I also like the floor plan, so I understand that you are attached to it; but if it is not financially feasible like that, it doesn't help much.

If it stays with the design: position doors so that there is at least space behind them for a bookshelf (40 cm, or Ikea shelves are often already 40, so 45) or wardrobes & kitchen cabinets, then 65 cm.

Remove the stupid airspace, it is pointless or only disrupts the organization of the upper floor.

So I'll say that all the contributions have helped me become smaller.

I really like the kitchen, living, dining area with the possibility of partitions and the open but somehow not open character.

Yes, it would be an approach to take this as a basis and redesign all the other rooms again. So a new start with a few components that were good in the old plan. Do I understand that correctly?
