I had hoped we would get some more information about the development plan, such as maximum roof pitch, knee wall height, and overall height. Then one could consider whether to plan something like this, which I would find visually much more appealing:

Sorry for the late reply. First of all, thank you very much for the feedback. We had initially planned the different rectangular shape as well, as it offers slightly larger rooms. However, we abandoned it for cost reasons, since an attic is still necessary for our requirements.

Is there a plan of the property with exact dimensions?

You can also provide the values here.

The neighbors built their house exactly on the building line. Could it be that this is a requirement in the planning? When I see how the neighbors handle the distances to the boundary, you should plan your house rather 8m wide as well. But a bit shorter. 8*13m is such a planning optimum.

Here is a suggestion with 7.5m*12.5m. This is how I would align it and also change the ridge direction.

You have said that before. Unfortunately, I do not understand this sentence. Do you mean that the widening of the building mass at the front will become so expensive that you could no longer convert the roof? I think you should definitely take your plan to the kitchen planning. After that, I am curious whether that will remain the case. ;)

In the 1950s, there was an agreement among the neighbors that the boundary distances only had to be 2 m; currently, this would only be possible with the neighbor's signature, which unfortunately is not feasible. As described in the opening post, after consultation with the building authority, a deviation from the building line is possible, hence the rotation for better lighting. 7.5 x 12.5 would unfortunately not fit, but only just over 6 m in length. Unfortunately, I will only have access to all the documents again in a week, but I have sketched the building envelope (see attachment). Yes, I meant that widening the building volume would be too expensive for the added value we gain. The greatest added value would of course be a larger kitchen. We had roughly planned this before, but we definitely need to go into more detail here. Thanks for the information!

One might perhaps save on length for that or initially use the attic only as a development reserve. I really don’t want to be a nuisance, but a nice kitchen is a key element for me when building a house. If I could only place 4 cabinets side by side my whole life, I would see that as saving in the wrong place. However, I am not a kitchen planner. I think Kerstin knows much more about that and might be able to give you a few tips. Please upload the plans again after you have deleted the names.
