First of all, many thanks for the quick responses! I really didn't expect it to be so fast! The kitchen is planned so that the tall cabinets and the cooktop are on the exterior wall (exhaust) and the sink island as shown in the plan faces into the room. We had considered placing the staircase in the hallway but then decided to leave it as is. Reasons included, among others, that this way it is not so cold upstairs in the other floors. The fireplace was actually planned in the corner near the staircase and so was the shaft. However, we didn’t like that because of the shaft, since that would mean losing another half a square meter from the already small guest room on the 1st floor... and in the 2nd floor bedroom we would lose 50 cm of closet space. Since there is a sloped ceiling there, we didn’t want to give that up. Rooms on the 1st floor: 2 children's rooms 1 guest room 1 bathroom Rooms on the 2nd floor: bedroom office bathroom Regarding the tub, somehow everyone shakes their head. I will discuss it again with my husband. But we are not bath people at all. Our little one was in Grandma’s tub once and that was a screaming fit from the start...

Definitely with a bathtub. That always changes with children. Mine also hated bathing. Now she is sometimes a permanent guest in the tub

So, 2 children planned after all. Or does one child get 2 rooms? :o

I couldn't live without a bathtub at all. You don't just plan for yourself, but also for the children or guests. And you can also shower in a tub. But if definitely no one uses it, then of course it would be nonsense.

Regarding the chimney - the external chimney would still be an option. It would have the advantage that the placement is quite flexible.

So currently number 2 is not planned, but Toad 1 is just under a year old. Before her, two children were planned, so we want to plan with 2 children's rooms.

Do you have any idea how to reasonably plan a bathtub in the bathroom on the 1st floor? I don't necessarily want to shower in the bathtub. That's just a quirk of mine. I find the tub/shower combo horrible.

We also have the chimney with external pipe in mind, especially because that way we have more time to think about it. You can wonderfully add it afterwards when you live in the house and know where everything should go and it actually fits in the end. The idea here was to place the chimney opposite the staircase, on the wall but downwards towards the terrace. The downside is that the path to the front door is on that side of the house. So you would always walk past the pipe... alternatively, I could imagine the pipe on the left outside at the terrace wall. That would also be a nice position for the stove. Downside: anyone passing the house or coming to us immediately looks at the pipe. Maybe that’s not a problem at all and only an eyesore in my head...

I would place the chimney as close as possible to the neighbor's house. Ideally, hide it right behind the usual terrace partition wall. It disappears. At least on the ground floor.

I think squeezing an extra bathtub into the tiny bathroom is garbage. You shower upstairs anyway, right? So why does it bother you if someone showers in the tub downstairs? There are perfect splash guards so you can stand. But if it's that awful - we all have our quirks here. :D

Definitely without a bathtub. Children much prefer to shower. Well, opinions and children are just that different. In eleven years (with three children), I have never missed a tub so far.
