Your living room with dining area is about 11 meters long, that gives a nice echo... just kidding :) But cozy is something else. What does the structural engineer say about it, when you still have several walls and the bathroom above? By the way, where do the drains actually run? I find the toilet on the ground floor too small. Even if you don’t need a shower there yet, the space for it should optionally be available.

So kids in bed, now I can finally get to it again ;-) First of all, many thanks for your comments and assessments!!!

Yes, there is still a lot to do... but we are just at the beginning!

Regarding your assessments...

We are aware of the narrow or huge area on the ground floor, we somehow wanted the "jack of all trades" namely: - To capture the morning sun over the kitchen and have a view of who is just arriving - To capture as much light and warmth as possible on the south side, the windows still need to be optimized here - To incorporate the free view on the north side. As seen in the first architect’s draft, there was an office there. But that was too valuable for us; if there is a view, we want to capture it.

Regarding the children's bathroom, its size is sufficient for us, we have already seen it "live" and previously it was even smaller :-)

- We should actually move the stove a bit! Thanks for that!

- No structural engineer has seen the design yet, but we have already seen a house with these dimensions and it is still standing ;-) however, we should still ask before we become fixated on it! Thanks for that!

- The drain for the children's bathroom could run as a small shaft in the outer wall downward or slightly mounted on the interior wall.

I will post some more drafts when I get a chance!

The jack of all trades is always a compromise. The tube-shaped main room is by no means attractive. The question is also whether the panoramic window at the end of the tube is well placed. In my opinion, not at all: a tube gives a better sense of space if the short sides are kept darker. Consider whether you really often linger in front of the window to enjoy the view. Otherwise, there is still the option to rotate the house or/and have a different design made.
